Rayong: A gas station mistakenly filled the wrong tank, leading villagers who filled up with Gasohol 95 to receive diesel instead, damaging 60 cars. On the evening of June 2nd, a gas station on Road 3191 in Mabyangporn Subdistrict, Pluak Daeng District, Rayong Province, experienced a malfunction, incorrectly filling the wrong type of fuel into the storage tank. This resulted in several incidents where motorcyclists using Gasohol 95 experienced vehicle damage, engine stalling, and some vehicles emitting thick smoke from their exhaust pipes. Many residents had to push their vehicles back to the gas station.
According to Thai News Agency, the latest reports from June 3rd indicate that the gas station manager has taken responsibility by providing contact information to all victims and stating that they will forward the matter to the gas station's insurance company for negotiation and compensation. They are also facilitating the transportation of damaged vehicles to nearby repair shops to quickly drain the incorrect fuel, replace the fuel, and replace the fuel injectors for the victims.
As of June 2nd, a total of 58 vehicles (including cars and motorcycles) had been reported damaged. Throughout yesterday morning, more affected individuals who had just learned of the damage continued to register their vehicles. The gas station management has pledged to expedite coordination and provide full compensation to all affected individuals.
