Bangkok: Chaiwat stated that "Big Pom" will personally vote for the Prime Minister. He revealed that the Palang Pracharath Party has received four ministerial positions and is waiting to talk with Anutin and the coalition parties to finalize the decision.
According to Thai News Agency, Chaiwut Thanakamanusorn, Deputy Leader of the Palang Pracharath Party, confirmed that General Prawit Wongsuwan, the leader of the party, participated in the Prime Ministerial election vote. He also encouraged party members to vote together. The Palang Pracharath Party has decided to join the government and has already had discussions with Bhumjaithai Party Leader Anutin Charnvirakul.
Regarding the possibility of General Prawit Wongsuwan being appointed as Minister of Defense, Nachaiwut stated that further discussions and a final conclusion are required. He noted that the party's executive committee is scheduled to meet in the afternoon to continue discussions, including talks with Mr. Anutin.
The central issues today include voting for a new prime minister and addressing the promises made to the citizens. This encompasses tackling various national issues, notably the Thai-Cambodian border situation. Economic concerns impacting the population are also a significant priority, necessitating urgent attention. Additional discussions are anticipated to focus on constitutional amendments.
When asked about the number of seats the Palang Pracharath Party might hold, Mr. Chaiwat mentioned that initially, discussions point to four seats, but no definitive conclusions have been reached. Further discussions are planned post-vote.
Regarding Mr. Chaiwut's potential ministerial role, he stated that no decisions have been made yet and expects that more details about joining the government will be discussed in due course.
