Sattahip: A high school student has filed a police report against her stepsister following a physical assault allegedly triggered by a disagreement over student loan funds. The altercation left the student, identified as Ms. A, with multiple bruises.
According to Thai News Agency, the conflict arose when Ms. A, an 18-year-old in her final year of high school in Sattahip District, Chonburi Province, received a 9,000 baht deposit from the Student Loan Fund (SLF) into her account. Ms. A chose to keep this information from her stepsister, whom she had been living with after the deaths of her parents and stepmother. She planned to save the funds for a future trip, while also using a portion for daily expenses and studies.
The situation escalated when Ms. A transferred 1,800 baht to her stepsister, prompting suspicion about the total amount received. Upon discovering the full deposit through a check of Ms. A's phone by her stepsister's daughter, the stepsister became enraged and allegedly assaulted Ms. A.
Seeking safety and justice, Ms. A reported the incident to Phluta Luang Police Station and is currently residing at a friend's home. In response to the situation, Mr. Seksan Iamsuk, the village headman of Moo 3, is coordinating with local agencies to offer assistance and support to Ms. A.
