Chonburi: Two steel factories in Sriracha have been found illegally operating in violation of a previous suspension order, resulting in significant legal actions and the seizure of steel bars worth over 11.5 million baht. The Ministry of Industry's Extreme Inspection Team re-inspected the facilities and uncovered the ongoing illegal activities.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Thitipat Chotidechachainan, head of the working group of Mr. Ekkanat Promphan, Minister of Industry, disclosed that the factories were using an outdated IF melting machine, which is believed to be a significant factor contributing to the deterioration of steel quality. The authorities have filed multiple charges against the factories and are committed to prosecuting the offenders to the fullest extent of the law. The case may also be proposed to the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) to be considered as a special case due to its severity.
In addition to the illegal production activities, the Immigration Police discovered six Chinese nationals working at the factories without permits. These workers were arrested, had their visas revoked, and were deported immediately.
