India to Send Plane to Bring 540 Call Center Workers Back Home

Myawaddy: Today, the Indian government is preparing to send a C-17 military aircraft to bring 540 call center workers back to their country.

According to Thai News Agency, yesterday, security officials in Myawaddy Province, Myanmar, along with Border Guard Forces (BGF) soldiers, took 214 Chinese nationals from the second lot of the call center group out of the quarantine area in Myawaddy City. They put them in military vehicles and traveled to Myawaddy City, Myanmar, to proceed with immigration procedures at the second permanent Myawaddy border checkpoint.

Myawaddy security officials then handed over all the Chinese nationals to Tak Immigration Police. The police took them on two buses and set off across the 2nd Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge. Upon arrival, soldiers facilitated their Thai immigration procedures before sending them to Mae Sot International Airport, where a Chinese government plane picked up the call center group and took them back to China for processing.

For the transportation of Chinese people from the call center group, the journey from Myawaddy to Mae Sot to Nanjing had two rounds. The first round operated from February 20-22, with 621 people, and the second round from March 6-9, with 1,439 people. In total, 2,060 Chinese individuals were sent back to their country. There are 810 Chinese people waiting to be sent back in a third round scheduled between March 13-14.

It was also reported that on March 10-11, the Indian government will arrange a C-17 military aircraft to pick up 540 Indian call center workers in Myawaddy. They will be transported through the second Mae Sot-Myawaddy permanent border checkpoint and then sent to board two flights at Mae Sot International Airport.
