Bangkok: The Justice Minister has refrained from commenting on the ongoing issue related to the 14th floor transfer of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, urging all parties to respect the current court investigation process. The Minister emphasized the legality and regulatory support for transferring individuals for medical treatment outside of prison facilities.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Col. Thawee Sodsong, the Minister of Justice, addressed the Supreme Court's fact-finding meeting concerning Thaksin's transfer to the 14th floor of the Police General Hospital. The court has summoned Bangkok Special Prison Commander Manop Chomchuen to testify as the first witness. The Justice Minister highlighted the importance of respecting the court's procedures and noted the court's decision to accept additional witnesses, which includes summoning 20 individuals to uncover the truth.
The Minister clarified that, although he has prepared information for the no-confidence debate, he can only discuss publicly available facts. He referred to the agreement between Bangkok Special Prison and the Police General Hospital, asserting the transfer's compliance with legal and ministerial regulations. The Minister stressed the importance of allowing the court to complete its examination of witnesses before any further comments are made.
