Labour Ministry’s Initiative to Support Disabled Insured Persons in Bangkok

Bangkok: Labour Minister Chulalongkorn has tasked Poomphat to collaborate with the Social Security Office team to visit and assess the quality of life of disabled insured persons in the Min Buri and Khlong Sam Wa districts. Mr. Julaphan Amornvivat, Minister of Labour, delegated Mr. Phumipat Hosakul, a member of his working group, to personally visit and encourage disabled insured individuals at their residences in these districts as part of the 'SSO Brings Happiness' project.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Kanjana Poolkaew, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, has appointed Ms. Niyada Seneemanomai, Deputy Secretary-General, and other officials, including a multidisciplinary team from local public health centers, to accompany the visit. This team is responsible for monitoring the quality of life of disabled insured persons and providing necessary goods and support to them and their families. Mr. Bhumipat Hosakul emphasized that the Minister of Labour is particularly concerned about those who suffer from disabilities due to injuries or illnesses. The visit aims not only to provide encouragement but also to offer guidance on labour laws and assess rehabilitation plans to ensure the insured receive appropriate treatment.

Ms. Niyada Seneemanomai highlighted that the "Bringing Happiness" project is a testament to the Social Security Office's dedication to caring for insured persons. The initiative continuously aims to enhance morale and quality of life for disabled insured individuals, ensuring they have fair access to benefits. During the visit, three insured persons were visited: Mr. Samart Philompan, 60, Mr. Jamnan Prommee, 53, and Ms. Anchalee Mahmadsaw, 48, all of whom have been receiving disability benefits due to severe disabilities affecting their working capacities.

The Deputy Secretary-General reiterated that the Social Security Office remains committed to supporting all insured groups, particularly those with disabilities requiring long-term care, to ensure they lead quality lives and receive full benefits. Every insured individual is deemed a vital part of the "Social Security Family," contributing to the nation's strength.
