Bangkok: Political observers are questioning who "Lawyer Aun" is accompanying to file the complaint. The actions of "Lawyer Aun" in supporting a complaint have raised further questions about whether these actions constitute a form of discrediting someone.
According to Thai News Agency, a wave of criticism has arisen among political circles and social media regarding lawyer Patarapong Supakorn, who has recently focused on the Senate election issue. Most recently, he and a man named Thitiwat (pseudonym) live-streamed a complaint to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) against another individual. Unbeknownst to them, the person they referenced in their diagram was a former convict sentenced to 10 years in prison. The individual had been serving as a prosecutor in Yasothon province when he accepted a 30,000 baht bribe to help four defendants avoid prosecution. This case traversed through three courts, reaching its final verdict on April 17, 2020, under case number AT.89/2560 (black number) and AT.452/2560 (red number), sentencing him to 10 years in prison as per both the lower and appellate court rulings.
During a live broadcast with lawyer Aun, the individual claimed to have legal experience, having served as a lawyer, former provincial prosecutor, and chairman of the Election Commission of Yasothon Province. However, the court ruling presents a different perspective, leading political observers to question whether the individual had any political motives for participating in the movement with lawyer Aun.
