In Tak province, heavy rain fell for several hours throughout the night across five border districts. Massive floodwaters surged from the Mae Sot stream, suddenly inundating the Mae Sot municipal area. Residents were startled awake by emergency announcements and frantically moved their belongings to safety. The Mae Sot market, a major economic hub, was flooded with over 30 centimeters of water, while low-lying communities experienced flooding exceeding 50 centimeters. The Mae Sot district chief mobilized resources, including volunteer defense members and the Mae Sot municipality, to assist residents in moving belongings to higher ground and evacuating the sick and elderly to safe locations.

Meanwhile, along the Thai-Myanmar border, the Moei River has overflowed its banks by more than 1 meter and is rising hourly, flooding both the town of Myawaddy in Myanmar and the Mae Sot market in Mae Sot district.
