‘Maris’ discusses ways to promote ASEAN-China cooperation


“Maris” attended the ASEAN-China meeting, endorsed the joint statement on cooperation in humanitarian mine action.

Mr. Maris Sengiampong, Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the ASEAN-China Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Vientiane, Lao PDR. The meeting discussed ways to promote ASEAN-China cooperation under the comprehensive strategic partnership and adopted the Joint Statement of ASEAN-China Foreign Ministers on Strengthening Cooperation on Humanitarian Mine Action, as well as exchanging views on regional and international situations.

Thailand has pushed forward important cooperation issues, including economic integration and connectivity, digital connectivity and people-to-people ties, emphasizing China’s important role in maintaining good relations among major powers.

Reporters reported that today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs also attended the ASEAN meeting with various countries, including New Zealand, Japan, EU, South Korea, India, Russia, the United Kingdom, America, Canada, Australia, and also
met with the Mekong countries with Japan, South Korea, as well as held bilateral discussions with the EU, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.-312 – Thai News Agency
