Bangkok: The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives held the second full rehearsal for the 2026 Royal Ploughing Ceremony, ensuring all preparations are in place for the event scheduled on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
According to Thai News Agency, the rehearsal took place on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 7:00 AM at Sanam Luang. Mr. Winairoj Sapsongsook, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, served as the Phraya Raek Na (Chief Ploughman) during the rehearsal. Accompanying him were Ms. Chantisara Areesawet and Ms. Apichaya Foosang, who carried the golden baskets, and Ms. Pornjitra Chanjarern and Ms. Saranya Thongkam, who carried the silver baskets.
The rehearsal was attended by officials from various departments under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, as well as representatives from the Royal Household, the Ministry of Defence, and the Royal Thai Police. These participants gathered at Sanam Luang to ensure a seamless execution of the ceremony.
Mr. Winairoj Sapsongsook emphasized that the Ministry is fully prepared for the upcoming Royal Ploughing Ceremony. Preparations include the readiness of the venue, event organization, guidelines for participation, and measures for security, traffic management, and convenience.
The public and interested farmers are encouraged to watch the live broadcast of the event via the Thai National Broadcasting Service (NBT) and various online media platforms on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, beginning at 8:00 AM.
