‘NFE’ and ‘Araya Land’ Collaborate to Launch Araya Industrial Estate in Samut Prakan

Samut Prakan: The Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) has partnered with Araya Land Development Co., Ltd. to introduce the Araya Industrial Estate, an expansive ecological industrial zone spanning over 1,891 rai within "Araya The Eastern Gateway" in Samut Prakan Province. This initiative is designed to support the growth of future industries such as semiconductors, electric vehicles (EVs), and data centers. It aims to attract substantial investment projects and foster a sustainable industrial and innovation ecosystem, thereby propelling the Thai economy to the global forefront while considering the implications of US tariff policies.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sumet Tangprasert, an IEAT board member and acting governor, emphasized that the Araya Industrial Estate project marks the 73rd industrial estate under IEAT's supervision. This development is set to bolster investment in targeted sectors including semiconductors, electronics, EVs, pharmaceuticals, logistics, and data centers. Companies established within the estate will benefit from tax and investment incentives aligned with government policies, potentially generating over 52 billion baht in investment and creating 14,560 jobs. The US tariff policies are seen as a catalyst for relocating investment bases to Thailand. By 2025, IEAT plans to approve over 50,000 rai of industrial estates, with more than 10,000 rai already sanctioned and over 40 projects awaiting application by estate developers. IEAT has streamlined the approval process to mitigate risks and expedite project approvals, allowing for industrial estate announcements prior to EIA report approvals. Additionally, the Eastern Economic Corridor Policy Committee is preparing to designate Prachinburi Province as the fourth EEC province, complementing Chachoengsao, Chonburi, and Rayong, to further support investment, with an emphasis on building investor confidence.

Ms. Kamolkan Kongkathong, Managing Director of Araya Land Development Co., Ltd., disclosed that the Araya The Eastern Gateway project was conceived under the Industrial Tech Ecosystem concept, which integrates industrial and innovation ecosystems. The project aims to establish a hub for industrial innovation, advanced technology, and integrated logistics, representing a novel model for Thailand. Strategically located on a vast purple land plot at kilometer 32 of Bangna-Trat Road in Samut Prakan Province, the site is in close proximity to Bangkok and Suvarnabhumi Airport and is well-connected to the motorway leading to the EEC area. With its infrastructure readiness, the project is poised to attract leading companies from various sectors, driving the Thai economy forward sustainably. The growing demand for industrial land from multinational firms, coupled with IEAT's approval of ecological industrial estates, enhances investor confidence and supports future industrial sector expansion. Despite potential invest or hesitations due to fluctuating US tax measures, the Araya The Eastern Gateway project is expected to meet investor needs as a comprehensive industrial and innovation city equipped with world-class facilities and infrastructure that promote sustainability.

The Araya Industrial Estate encompasses approximately 1,891 rai within Bang Phli Noi Subdistrict and Ban Rakat Subdistrict in Bang Bo District, Samut Prakan Province. This project, in collaboration with Frasers Property Thailand, Rojana, and Asia Industrial Estate, aims to establish a holistic industrial and innovation city that integrates industrial zones with urban living, offering world-class facilities and infrastructure to harmonize work and life, supporting sustainability, and driving economic growth.
