Nida Poll Reveals Democrat Party Leads in Southern Support

Bangkok: Nida Poll reveals results of a survey on political trends in the South. The Democrat Party is the political party that southerners will support today, and Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva is leading in the vote.

According to Thai News Agency, the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) Opinion Survey Center (NIDA Poll) conducted the 'Southern Political Trends' survey between November 18-24, 2025, among citizens aged 18 and over who are eligible to vote in 14 southern provinces, totaling 2,000 samples, with a 97 percent confidence level. The results showed that 32.25 percent ranked first, saying they still haven't found a suitable person to be Prime Minister. 25.65 percent ranked second, Abhisit Vejjajiva (Democrat Party), 15.40 percent ranked third, Anutin Charnvirakul (Bhumjaithai Party), 12.85 percent ranked fourth, Natthaphong Ruangpanyawut (People's Party), 2.50 percent ranked fifth, General Prayut Chan-o-cha, and 2.45 percent ranked sixth, General Rangsi Kitiyanasap (Economic Party). The seventh place, with 2.05 percent, was Mr. Phiraphan Salirathavipak (Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party), followed by Mr. Wan Muhammad Noor Matha (Prachachat Party) in eighth place with 1.85 percent, and Mr. Chulaphan Amo rnvivat (Pheu Thai Party) and Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan (Thai Sang Thai Party) in equal proportions for ninth place.

The remaining 2.50 percent indicated other options, including General Prawit Wongsuwan (Palang Pracharath Party), Dr. Suchatvee Suwansawat (Thai Kao Mai Party), Police Colonel Thawee Sodsong (Prachachat Party), and some did not wish to vote.

Finally, when asked about the political party that southern people would support today, it was found that the first place, with 28.60 percent, was the Democrat Party. Second place, with 28.45 percent, said they had not yet found a suitable political party. Third place, with 17.80 percent, went to the Prachachon Party, followed by the Bhumjaithai Party in fourth place with 11.65 percent, and the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party in fifth place with 3.90 percent.
