Bangkok: The Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) is extending an invitation to Grade 12 students to participate in free supplementary tutoring sessions aimed at enhancing their knowledge before the upcoming A-Level exams.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Wisanu Thrapsombat, Deputy Secretary-General of OBEC, announced that these sessions are organized in line with the TCAS69 examination calendar for university admissions. The activities are scheduled to run from February 2-6 and will be conducted online. Educational institutions and Grade 12 students can join these sessions at no cost.
The initiative is designed to promote varied teaching and assessment methods, develop students' potential based on their aptitudes and interests, prepare them for higher education, and promote educational equality. This aligns with the education policy of Professor Dr. Narumon Pinyosinwat, Minister of Education, who emphasizes using technology to facilitate learning at any time and location. Mr. Pichet Phophakdee, Secretary-General of the Basic Education Commission, supports this initiative as it is essential in reducing inequality and expanding opportunities for students to prepare confidently for university life.
The supplementary tutoring is considered regular school time under the OBEC announcement related to the promotion and development of learning for Grade 12 students. The sessions can be accessed through the OBEC Channel on YouTube, Facebook, or the OBEC website.
The schedule for the supplementary learning runs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. On February 2nd, students will attend Applied Mathematics 1-2 with Teacher Tap and Applied Science with Teacher Friend. February 3rd features English with Teacher Nanny and Thai and Social Studies with Teacher Ping. February 4th includes Physics with Teacher Toey, Pali Language with Teacher Molly, and Chemistry with Teacher Ken. February 5th offers language classes in French with Teacher Kao, Chinese with Teacher Nung, German with Teacher Kung, and Japanese with Teacher Home. On February 6th, students can attend Korean with Teacher Tui, Spanish with Teacher Beer, and Biology with Teacher Vivian.
