Bangkok: Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, has publicly denied any conflict with the military regarding the closure of the Thai-Cambodian border, asserting that there is unity between the government and the military. He emphasized the government's confidence in the ability of both countries to reduce violence through their current stances.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Phumtham addressed rumors circulating on social media about a supposed conflict between political and military leaders over managing issues at the Thai-Cambodian border. He clarified that there have been multiple discussions between himself and the military, resulting in a mutual agreement to prioritize national sovereignty and the interests of the people while working towards a resolution.

Mr. Phumtham explained that while the current border closure is not a direct conflict, it does lead to economic issues impacting people's lives.
