“Pim-Oshi” Arrested for Throwing Soup at Rangsit, Further Legal Action Taken

Bangkok: Police take 'Pim-Oshi', the person who threw Rangsit soup, to the police station. The victim's mother cried and asked, 'Why did you do this to my child? Do you feel any remorse?'

According to Thai News Agency, progress in the case involves a second-year student at a well-known university in the Rangsit area who was assaulted by a senior from the same university. The attacker poured hot soup from a pot on the victim three times, causing injuries and blisters. Additionally, the victim's hair was shaved, and she was threatened and extorted for 50,000 baht and forced to drop out of school. After the incident, the victim filed a complaint at Khlong Luang Police Station and coincidentally met "Gun Jom Phalang," who was following up on the "Oreo Gang" case. She sought his help out of fear of the attacker's influence.

The Thanyaburi Provincial Court has now approved an arrest warrant for Mr. Pim and Mr. Oshi on charges of 'jointly causing physical harm and extortion and deprivation of liberty.' Both individuals are seen in a video clip pouring soup and are also involved in the assault of Ms. Ann, another victim, in a parking lot adjacent to the university.

Khlong Luang Police Station brought Mr. Pim and Mr. Oshi in for further questioning in the afternoon. When the police escorted Mr. Pim, he refused to answer media questions, covering his face with his hands and wearing a mask. The mother of the victim confronted Mr. Pim at the police station, asking, 'Why did you do this to my child? Do you feel any remorse?' Mr. Pim did not respond.

The police initially objected to bail at the investigation level and plan to take both suspects to the Thanyaburi Provincial Court for detention proceedings tomorrow.

Following media coverage of the assault on a student, hundreds of LGBTQ+ individuals and teenagers, angered by the attack and aware of the perpetrator's identity, gathered at the perpetrator's residence last night to demand justice. "Kan Jom Phalang" and the Superintendent of Khlong Luang Police Station intervened, assuring full legal action.

The university has issued a statement expressing concern for those affected and reiterating its stance against violence, which is a serious violation of student discipline. It has established committees for fact-finding, investigation, and punishment consideration, and is cooperating with the police to ensure legal accountability. Urgent measures include canceling course revocations, allowing victims to resume classes, providing legal advice, and offering medical treatment by the university's medical team.

Ms. Supamas Isaraphakdi, Minister of Higher Education, expressed her concern for the attacked student and stated that such violence is unacceptable. She directed the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education to coordinate with the university to determine how the Ministry can assist. The Ministry is prepared to provide full support.

The victim posted a message on her IG story, thanking those who offered encouragement, noting that her wounds are healing and less painful. The Superintendent of Khlong Luang Police Station has taken legal action, with Brother Kan Chom Phalang aiding her and her friends. He assured that he will strive to recover his mental state quickly.

On the IG story of the person claiming to be 'Pim', the individual posted an apology, expressing genuine regret for the incident and pledging to cooperate with authorities. The message concluded with 'I apologize.'
