PM Establishes Center to Monitor Middle East Fighting Situation

Bangkok: Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has issued Order 53/2026 to establish the Center for the Administration and Monitoring of the Fighting Situation in the Middle East (CAMC). The center aims to ensure that efforts to resolve impacts from the regional conflict are orderly and efficient. The Minister of Transport serves as Director, with the Minister of Finance as Deputy Director, leading a committee of ministers and permanent secretaries from Defense, Foreign Affairs, Energy, Commerce, and Labor.

According to Thai News Agency, the committee integrates key security and economic agencies, including the National Security Council and the Bank of Thailand. To safeguard trade and investment, private sector leaders from the Federation of Thai Industries, the Thai Chamber of Commerce, PTT, and the Thai Bankers' Association have been joined as members to oversee Thailand's exports during the crisis.

The CAMC is authorized to monitor the situation, propose mitigation measures, and command government agencies to integrate their operations. It also focuses on proactive public relations to provide factual information and build public confidence. The center holds the power to summon officials and documents to support a comprehensive assessment of the situation.
