Phetchabun: Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul is visiting Phetchabun today to follow up on the Si Thep World Heritage site and participate in the opening ceremony of the Hug Bang Fai Phu Toey festival, aiming to promote cultural tourism and the local economy.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Lalida Periswiwatana, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that today, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul is scheduled to travel to Phetchabun Province. The purpose of the visit is to monitor the development of historical and cultural tourist attractions, as well as meet with the public and participate in important local activities to continuously promote the grassroots economy and community tourism.
The Prime Minister will visit the Si Thep Historical Park in Si Thep District, Phetchabun Province, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The visit aims to monitor the development and management of this Thai World Heritage site and ensure its sustainable benefit to the local people and economy.
The Prime Minister will then proceed to Khao Khlang Nok archaeological site to visit this important archaeological site and follow up on the development of cultural tourism in Phetchabun province. This area is considered to have significant potential for generating income for the people and communities.
Ms. Lalida stated that in the evening, the Prime Minister will preside over the opening ceremony of the 2026 'Hak Bang Fai Phu Toey' festival at the front of the Phu Toey Subdistrict Municipality Office, Wichian Buri District, Phetchabun Province. This is an important local tradition that reflects the identity, culture, and cooperation of the people in the community, while also promoting tourism and stimulating the local economy.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the government prioritizes the development of cultural tourism cities, the preservation of historical heritage, and the generation of income for people at the local level. This is coupled with visiting communities, listening to their problems, and closely monitoring the work of various agencies to ensure that development truly benefits the people, Ms. Lalida said.
