Prime Minister Assures Farmers Amid Drought Concerns During Royal Rice Seed Collection

Bangkok: The Prime Minister participated in collecting royal rice seeds and reassured farmers that they need not worry about drought. The Prime Minister, also serving as the Minister of Interior, took part in the Royal Ploughing Ceremony at Sanam Luang, where he collected rice seeds to plant in his own paddy. He emphasized that the government has coordinated efforts among all relevant agencies to address potential drought and El Ni±o conditions, ensuring farmers that water supply will be adequate.

According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister, Anutin Charnvirakul, joined the public in the ceremonial rice seed collection, placing the seeds in bags provided by the King after the Royal Ploughing Ceremony. He expressed appreciation for the large turnout and shared that this was his first experience participating in such an event. The Prime Minister intends to plant the seeds in his personal paddy, the location of which he chose to keep private, to foster growth and prosperity.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister highlighted that comprehensive measures have been put in place to aid farmers in anticipation of a possible drought. The government aims to provide robust support to farmers, ensuring that they can sustain their livelihoods despite potential adverse weather conditions.
