Python Breaks Through Ceiling and Swallows Kitten in Nonthaburi Province

Nonthaburi: Residents were alarmed when a 5-meter long python broke through the ceiling and swallowed a Scottish kitten. The homeowner, Police Lieutenant Colonel Rachanon, reported that this was the second such incident at his residence.

According to Thai News Agency, the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Center officers from the 191st Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Center were called to assist in capturing the large python that had invaded the house. When officials arrived, they found the python curled up behind a washing machine. Despite its attempts to fight back, the officers managed to capture the snake using a noose. A subsequent inspection revealed a swollen belly, leading to the assumption that the python had consumed a kitten.

Police Lieutenant Ratchanon, the homeowner, reported that he was raising 8 cats, including 5 adults and 3 kittens. Recently, he had given away two kittens, leaving one male Scottish Fold. The next morning, while searching for the remaining kitten, he discovered the python and noticed a large hole in the ceiling, suggesting the snake's entry point.

This incident follows a previous event in August when a python also broke through the ceiling and attempted to attack a cat in the same house. However, only adult cats were present, allowing them to escape in time.
