Chanthaburi: Jesd-Chaiwut, leaders of the Rak Chart Party, are set to engage with the public in Chanthaburi this evening, following a ceremonial visit to the King Taksin the Great Shrine. The visit was marked by a traditional sword dance performed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jetsada Tonawanik, a prime minister candidate, as a tribute to the revered King Taksin.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chaiwut Thanakamanusorn, also a prime minister candidate and party leader, joined Dr. Jetsada and the Rak Chart Party team in paying homage at the shrine. The performance, known as the "Dual Sword Fighting Dance in Tribute to King Taksin," was executed with agility and strength, reflecting on the valor of Thai fighters from the past.
Prior to the performance, the party's younger members pledged their dedication to national service, emphasizing their commitment to integrity and change without corruption. Dr. Jetsada highlighted the sword dance's dual purpose: honoring King Taksin's historic liberation efforts and seeking blessings to overcome political challenges.
Support from the community was evident, with locals expressing hope for the party's success, particularly due to its youthful composition. An unexpected rain shower during the homage was interpreted by villagers as a favorable sign from King Taksin.
Following the shrine visit, the Rak Chart Party paid respects at the monument of Queen Ramphaiphanni at Ramphaiphanni Rajabhat University. The day's events will culminate in a public forum titled "Rak Chart Begins with Listening" in King Taksin the Great Public Park, aimed at gathering input from the citizens of Chanthaburi.
