Similan islands: Tourism in Similan Islands National Park, Koh Phra Thong Subdistrict, Kuraburi District, Phang Nga Province, has become bustling again after being closed for tourism during the monsoon for 5 months. It was reopened on October 15th, with tourists, especially foreigners, flocking to visit. Today, we’d like to take you to see the beauty of Island 8 or Similan Island, which has Sail Rock and Ao Kuek, the symbols of the Similan Islands. You’ll find the sea beautiful, the water clear and blue, and the sand white and fine.
According to Thai News Agency, a must-do when visiting this island is taking a photo with Sail Rock and the white sandy beach of Ao Kuek, along with walking up the nature trail on the mountain to the beautiful Sail Rock viewpoint. Tourists are intrigued by how this large rock, resembling a large sail, came to be placed here.
Island 8, or Similan Island, is the largest of the Similan Islands. It’s home to the iconic Sail Rock, a horseshoe-shaped bay with fine, soft white sand and crystal-clear water. Underwater, you’ll find a variety of beautiful coral reefs and a variety of colorful fish. This island is ideal for both deep and shallow diving. In addition to Sail Rock, the northern part of the island boasts other unusual rock formations, including a boot-shaped rock and a Donald Duck head rock. The Sail Rock viewpoint offers a stunning panoramic view of the sea. Open to tourists from October 15th to May 15th each year, it offers a truly spectacular viewpoint.
