Tai Orathai Participates in Annual Kathin Ceremony to Support Temple Construction


Ubon ratchathani: Tai Orathai made merit at the Kathin ceremony at her hometown temple in Ubon Ratchathani Province, completing the construction of the pavilion to welcome monks. Making merit at her hometown temple is a regular annual event for the country singer Tai Orathai. Every year she travels to participate in the Kathin ceremony at Wat Pa Nong Dong Thammaram, Ban Saen Chani, Tambon Phonsawan, Amphoe Na Chaluai, Ubon Ratchathani Province.



According to Thai News Agency, last year, the Kathin donation total was 325,270 baht. The temple has already used the money to build pillars and a roof frame for the monk reception hall. And most recently, on November 1, 2015, Tai Orathai once again participated in the Kathin ceremony at her hometown temple. This year’s Kathin donation totaled 236,897.64 baht, and the temple will use the money to build a reception hall for monks, continuing the abbot’s intentions.



Tai Orathai posted photos of the Kathin Samakkhi merit-making ceremony on her Facebook page, along with the message, “This year’s Kathin donation total is 236,897.64 baht, offered at Wat Pa Nong Dong Thammaram, Ban Saen Chani, Tambon Phonsawan, Amphoe Na Chaluai, Ubon Ratchathani Province (Tai Orathai’s hometown). This year’s Kathin donation total will go towards building a pavilion to welcome monks. Construction is expected to be completed within this year. We rejoice in every baht and satang that everyone has contributed.”
