Solar Streetlight Relocation Settles Tension in Lopburi

Lopburi: Drama surrounding a solar-powered streetlight blocking a house in Lopburi has concluded as the obstructive pole was recently relocated. The homeowner, embracing principles of co-existence, resolved the issue and offered apologies to the Lopburi Municipality and its mayor for any inconvenience caused.

According to Thai News Agency, Mayor Chamroen Salachip of Lopburi Municipality directed Mr. Phirom Kamphong, Director of the Municipal Engineering Division, along with the streetlight installation contractor, to reposition the pole that had been blocking Mr. Chanchai's residence. The pole was moved approximately one meter to the left, effectively reducing the obstruction. Care was taken during the relocation to ensure that the pole remained suitably positioned in front of the four houses owned by Mr. Chanchai, without causing further inconvenience to other residents.

The situation gained attention on social media after the Facebook page "Traveling in Lopburi: Check-in Lopburi" shared an image of the streetlight problematic location on Narai Maharat Road. The post highlighted the difficulty it caused for vehicles accessing the property, and previous attempts at negotiation for the pole's relocation had not been successful.

Mayor of Lopburi later clarified that the installation of solar-powered lights along the 4-kilometer Narai Maharat Road was executed according to the project's design specifications. The lighting installation, intended to illuminate spans of approximately 20 meters per light, aimed to minimize obstructions but could not accommodate every household's preferences.

Subsequently, "Traveling in Lopburi: Check-in Lopburi" retracted their initial post, issuing an apology to the Lopburi Municipality for the perceived self-centeredness of their criticism. They acknowledged a misunderstanding with the engineering team and clarified that their intentions were not to attack the municipality. They expressed a desire to meet with the mayor to discuss the issue further.

Ultimately, the Lopburi Mayor's intervention resolved the pole dispute. Mr. Chanchai, unaware of the pole's relocation due to his absence, expressed gratitude towards the mayor for addressing the matter. He conveyed his satisfaction and expressed a wish to personally meet the mayor to extend his apologies.
