Speeding Pickup Truck Crashes into Parked Motorcycles, Injures Three in Samut Prakan

Samut prakan: A speeding pickup truck crashed into parked motorcycles in Soi Un Aree, Thaimai Subdistrict, Mueang District, leaving three people injured, including one severely pinned against a wall.

According to Thai News Agency, CCTV footage captured the dramatic moment when the speeding vehicle swerved along the left lane, striking a motorcycle and a pedestrian. The incident unfolded rapidly, occurring around 9:30 PM last night. A woman standing outside a noodle shop narrowly escaped injury but was visibly shaken and ran inside crying.

Police and rescue workers rushed to the scene to provide assistance. Among the injured were the owner of one of the damaged motorcycles, a seriously injured pedestrian who had just left the noodle shop, and the pickup truck driver who sustained minor injuries. The front of the truck was severely damaged, with the front wheel detached, and six motorcycles were found scattered.

Eyewitnesses reported the pickup truck driving at high speed alongside a motorcycle before it crashed into a parked motorcycle on the left side of the road. The truck then continued to drag several motorcycles and struck a pedestrian, causing serious injuries. The driver, who appeared heavily intoxicated, exited the vehicle and engaged in a verbal altercation with bystanders, leading to a brawl.

Another victim recounted turning around to ride his motorcycle home when the pickup truck sped towards Sukhumvit Road, narrowly missing him before swerving left and colliding with the parked motorcycles. Police conducted a breathalyzer test on the driver and are gathering evidence to take legal action.
