According to Thai News Agency, police in Phichit province arrested Mr. Sittikorn, 25, at a temple in Mueang Phichit district and brought him in for questioning. Mr. Sittikorn had been found to have hidden a camera in the temple's communal restroom. The temple is open to the public, with doors frequently opened, and students and other visitors often use the restroom. Authorities discovered that someone with malicious intent had secretly filmed people and then posted the videos on social media, leading to the investigation and arrest.
Police seized Mr. Sittikorn's phone for examination. The phone contained numerous pornographic images, including some of those of a 10-year-old girl. Not only did he photograph others, but he also took pictures of his own genitals. What shocked officers was a video of Mr. Sittikorn removing the bidet nozzle from a women's restroom, urinating into it, and then filling the hose with semen and paint thinner before reassembling it to function normally.
Police Lieutenant Natthaporn Netrayim, Deputy Investigating Officer at Phichit City Police Station, revealed that during the initial investigation, Mr. Sittikorn confessed, but it is still unknown whether he sold the obscene images and videos, as the investigation is not yet complete. He has initially been charged with possession and distribution of obscene material.
Locals living near the temple said that Mr. Sittikorn had previously been ordained as a monk at this temple and was considered a good person. He had disrobed to await military service, having applied online. During this time, he helped the monks and novices clean the temple and carry the monks' food containers during their alms rounds. They never expected him to behave like this.
