Suan Dusit Poll Highlights Rising Political Figures and Public Interest in New Spending Scheme

Bangkok: Suan Dusit University's recent poll has shed light on the political dynamics in Thailand for October 2025, revealing notable figures in both government and opposition circles. The survey, conducted with a sample of 2,126 people through online and field surveys from October 28 to 31, evaluated the "Thai Political Index for October 2025." The index remained consistent with September's score, standing at an average of 4.02.

According to Thai News Agency, the poll highlighted the performance of the opposition as the highest-scoring indicator, receiving an impressive average score of 4.60. In contrast, issues related to corruption and transparency were the lowest-scoring, with a score of 3.58. Anutin Charnvirakul emerged as the top government politician of the month, securing 48.01 percent of the votes. On the opposition side, Rakchanok Srinok was identified as the leading figure, with a score of 37.85 percent. The government's introduction of the "Half-Half Plus" spending scheme was the most favored performance, garnering a score of 64.42 percent. Meanwhile, the opposition's efforts in inspecting government performance were appreciated, receiving a score of 53.34 percent.

Dr. Pornpan Buathong, president of the Suan Dusit Poll, noted that the Thai Political Warning Index for October 2025 remained unchanged from the previous month, indicating a sense of public vigilance but a lack of confidence in the government's actions. Despite initiatives such as the "Half-Half Plus" scheme and attempts to address the Thai-Cambodian issue, public trust is being undermined by ongoing concerns about scammers and the rare earths memorandum of understanding, challenging transparency and confidence in government operations.
