Bangkok: “Surawong” has expressed disappointment with “Wirote” for playing old politics despite being of the new generation. Mr. Surawong Thienthong, Minister of Tourism and Sports and Secretary-General of the Pheu Thai Party, commented on Mr. Wiroj Lakkhanaadisorn’s statement regarding the Prime Minister’s awareness of truths. He expressed his dismay, noting that he had high hopes for the new generation’s political conduct.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Surawong mentioned that Mr. Wirote’s comments had reverted to old political practices, and he was particularly concerned about the use of language that could harm the reputation of those representing the public. Nevertheless, Mr. Surawong assured that if the topic arose during a no-confidence debate, the Prime Minister was prepared to respond to any queries and clarify matters to the public.
When asked whether Mr. Wirote should retract his statement, Mr. Surawong indicated that it was a personal decision and emphasized that the public could discern maturity. He reiterated his disappointment but seemed to leave room for individual discretion in handling the situation.
