Bangkok: "Supamas" has announced a strategic final push in the election, urging the public to vote for the blue side, emphasizing the current dichotomy between the left and right. She stressed the importance of casting votes wisely, warning that failing to support her could result in the "third party snatching the prize."
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Supamas Isarabhakdi, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office and responsible for the Bhumjaithai Party's Bangkok area, outlined the party's readiness for a major political rally in the city. Scheduled for Friday, January 30, 1996, at Lumpini Park from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM, the rally will feature blue corner leader Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, who is the Prime Minister, party leader, and Prime Ministerial candidate. Accompanying him will be his economic team, including campaign assistants Mr. Ekniti Nitithanpraphas and Ms. Supajee Suthamphan, alongside Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkaew, the Bhumjaithai Party's Prime Ministerial candidate, who will address the public in Bangkok for the first time.
Ms. Supamas addressed the potential unveiling of new policies or strategic moves in the final stretch, urging the public to listen to the Bhumjaithai Party leader for announcements of potential benefits. She also discussed the ongoing Thai-Cambodian border situation, emphasizing Mr. Anutin's commitment to national sovereignty and the party's consistent efforts to preserve national institutions.
Regarding Mr. Pita Limjaroenrat of the People's Party and his potential influence on the election, Ms. Supamas acknowledged his fan base, albeit noting his absence as a Prime Minister candidate this time. She pointed out that while policies across parties share similarities, such as co-payment schemes and reduced utility costs, the Bhumjaithai Party has effectively implemented these within months, positioning them as a viable governing choice.
Addressing concerns over strategic voting, Ms. Supamas reiterated the importance of unity within the blue corner to prevent vote splitting and ensure electoral success. She called upon the public to align with Bhumjaithai to prevent the third party from gaining an advantage.
Ms. Supamas concluded by expressing confidence in the Bhumjaithai Party's chances against the orange party, highlighting the party's achievements and comprehensive policy presentation. She remains optimistic about gaining significant parliamentary seats in Bangkok, contingent on public support.
