Bangkok: Taiwanese tourists are visiting Thailand in increasing numbers, with figures surpassing 850,000 this year. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is optimistic about welcoming 1 million Taiwanese travelers by the end of the year. Eight airlines are enhancing their offerings by selecting direct flights and introducing promotions to encourage repeat visits.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Phattananong Na Chiang Mai, the Deputy Governor for International Marketing, Asia and the South Pacific at TAT, stated that Thailand ranks among the top six destinations for Taiwanese tourists. From January 1 to November 12, 2025, 852,201 Taiwanese tourists have made their way to Thailand. The majority are independent travelers and repeat visitors, with each tourist staying an average of 6.24 days and spending approximately 36,960 baht per trip.
In 2025, flights from Taiwan to Thailand are expected to offer a total of 2,309,141 seats, operated by eight major airlines through six key Thai airports: Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, Mae Fah Luang International, Chiang Mai, Phuket, and Hat Yai. TAT's target is to attract at least 1 million Taiwanese tourists to Thailand by the end of the year.
