Pathum thani: The Agricultural Museum extends an invitation to explore the allure of Thai cuisine, offering eight complimentary cooking courses on June 6-7, 2026. The event, held in honor of His Majesty the King, is part of the Sufficiency Economy Market initiative titled 'Thai Agriculture to the World's Kitchen.'
According to Thai News Agency, the event aims to highlight the significance of the Thai agricultural sector as a global food producer by showcasing agricultural knowledge, resource management, and food security rooted in traditional wisdom. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in eight essential agricultural courses designed to enhance career development and create value in the industry. Additionally, the event will feature over 100 stalls selling high-quality agricultural products at reasonable prices.
Chief Petty Officer Prasert Malai, Director of the Agricultural Museum of Thailand, emphasized the global recognition of Thai cuisine, citing popular dishes such as Tom Yum Goong and Pad Thai. He noted that there is an increasing global focus on food safety, health, and sustainability, areas where Thailand excels due to its abundant resources, traditional knowledge, and agricultural practices. The event, he stated, demonstrates how Thai agriculture can generate value from the household level, enhancing quality of life and presenting Thailand's unique identity to the world.
The event will offer a comprehensive range of learning activities under the theme "Knowledge of the Land," featuring eight free workshops. These workshops will be conducted by agricultural experts and members of the Agricultural Museum network, covering topics like food production, processing local ingredients, health care, and using Thai wisdom for career creation and agricultural product enhancement. Courses will include converting waste into energy, eco-friendly worm composting, and marketing local vegetables globally.
A notable attraction is the exhibition "From Thai Soil to Flavors the World Loves," curated by Chef Tangmo of Krua Ngor Ngai. This exhibition will guide visitors through the journey of Thai cuisine, from ingredient sourcing in safe agricultural plots to internationally acclaimed dishes like green curry and Massaman curry. The exhibition "Taste of Wisdom, Value to the World" will also be on display, featuring 10 key Thai vegetables used in global cuisine, alongside data on Thailand's vegetable exports to 64 countries.
Attendees are encouraged to explore the vibrant marketplace featuring over 100 stalls from the Agricultural Museum network, offering a diverse range of quality products such as fresh organic vegetables, safe fruits, processed agricultural items, traditional snacks, herbal drinks, and rare Thai dishes made from local ingredients. This event not only celebrates Thai culinary heritage but also supports income generation for families and communities.
The event will take place on June 6-7, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Agricultural Museum of Thailand in Pathum Thani, promising an enriching experience of Thai culinary and agricultural excellence.
