Thai Innovations Offer Safety with Electrical Leak Detection Sticks During Floods

Bangkok:A new Thai innovation aims to protect individuals from electrical leaks during floods with a device known as a "walking stick to detect electrical leaks in water."

According to Thai News Agency, this innovation, referred to as the "Water Leakage Warning Stick," is designed to assist flood victims and rescue volunteers, ensuring their safe return home. Professor Dr. Yotsanun Wongsawat, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, recently received 500 sets of these devices.

These devices, including the "Safety Walking Stick" and the "Life-Changing Walking Stick," were donated by the Accelerated Research and Innovation Development Agency (ARDA) through the Area-Based Development Fund Management Unit (ABDU). The donation was presented by Professor Dr. Komkrit Lekskul, Director of ARDA, along with Associate Professor Dr. Uten Khamnan, Deputy Director of ABDU, and other members of the research team responsible for these innovations.

The devices are set to be distributed to the public and officials in areas affected by flooding, aiming to enhance safety and prevent electrical hazards during such emergencies.
