Thailand Prepares for 33rd SEA Games with Strict Safety Measures

Bangkok: Strict measures are in place to take care of all stadiums at the 33rd SEA Games. The Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) has collaborated with the National Institute of Emergency Medicine to implement strict measures to ensure maximum safety at all venues at the 33rd SEA Games. Various plans have been jointly developed, particularly emergency plans and essential medical equipment.

According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), revealed his readiness to host the 33rd SEA Games from December 9-20, 2025, where 50 major sports and 574 gold medals will be contested in Bangkok, Chonburi, and Songkhla provinces. He stated that the SAT has collaborated with the National Institute of Emergency Medicine to implement strict measures to ensure the highest level of safety at all SEA Games venues.

The Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) added that officials from the National Institute of Emergency Medicine were recently invited to Rajamangala National Stadium, which will be used for the opening and closing ceremonies and the Thai national men’s football team. The purpose of the event was to collect data on various aspects, such as the number of spectators and the location of entrances and exits. This data will be used to compile and prepare emergency plans in case an emergency arises. Furthermore, essential medical equipment must be readily available at all stadiums, particularly automated external defibrillators (AEDs), which are critically important.

“The Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) prioritizes the safety of spectators. Therefore, all stadiums at this SEA Games must meet the same safety standards,” said Dr. Kongsak.
