Thailand Prepares Transportation and Entry Procedures for 2025 SEA Games Opening Ceremony

Bangkok: The Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) has announced detailed transportation and entry procedures for the upcoming opening ceremony of the 33rd SEA Games, which will be hosted by Thailand from December 9-20, 2025. The opening ceremony is scheduled to take place on December 9, 2025, at the Rajamangala National Stadium, SAT Huamark, commencing at 6:00 p.m. Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the SAT, emphasized the arrangements put in place to ensure smooth travel for the public, athletes, and attendees.

According to Thai News Agency, the SAT, in collaboration with the Hua Mak Metropolitan Police Station and nearby police stations, has organized designated parking areas for attendees without parking passes. The three allocated locations include the Army Auditorium along Ram Intra Expressway for 300 vehicles, LIVE PARK Rama 9 for 400 cars, and HUAMARK CENTER for 800 vehicles. Shuttle services are arranged from these locations to the stadium, operating from noon until the event concludes.

For public transportation, the SAT has coordinated with the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) to provide 40 buses at the designated parking areas, along with 40 tuk-tuks from Ramkhamhaeng Airport Link to the Sports Authority of Thailand. Thai Smile buses will also operate two routes to the stadium from Hua Mak BTS Station and Lam Sali BTS Station, available from noon until the ceremony concludes.

Dr. Kongsak outlined the entry procedures for registered attendees arriving at the SAT Huamark. The process begins with a screening at ENTRANCE 1, Zone N. Attendees must present a QR Code and proof of identity-original ID cards for Thai nationals and passports for foreigners-before entering. They will then receive a wristband corresponding to their seating zone. Attendees are instructed to proceed to their seats in the designated zones (W, N, and S) by following specific entry points and directions to ensure an orderly ingress.
