Bangkok: "Thammanat" opened a mobile agricultural clinic in Nakhon Pathom, praising the continuation of His Majesty's royal initiative for holistic agricultural development. Meanwhile, Chief Petty Officer Yotsing led the industry in supporting processed agricultural products to create added value for Thai farmers.
According to Thai News Agency, this morning, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Captain Thamanat Phromphao, along with Deputy Minister of Industry, Chief Petty Officer Yotsing Liemlert, visited Nakhon Pathom province to inaugurate the Mobile Agricultural Clinic Project under the royal patronage of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn at Wat Phrong Maduea School (Sri Witthayakon).
Attendees included Lt. Col. Dr. Sinthop Kaewpichit, former Member of Parliament for Nakhon Pathom Constituency 2; Mr. Peerawas Somwong, Secretary to the Deputy Minister of Industry; members of the Deputy Minister of Industry's advisory committee; Mr. Winairoj Thrapsongsook, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives; Mrs. Anchalee Suwajittanont, Director-General of the Department of Sericulture and Acting Director-General of the Department of Agricultural Extension; and Ms. Arocha Nanthamontri, Governor of Nakhon Pathom Province.
Captain Thamanat, in his opening remarks, expressed his honor to preside over the ceremony, emphasizing that the project aligns with the royal aspirations for national development. His Majesty the King is dedicated to continuing and expanding the royal initiatives of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit to alleviate people's suffering in agriculture, education, water management, public health, and the environment.
The mobile agricultural clinic project is an essential mechanism for solving problems and transferring knowledge to farmers directly. It provides personnel, tools, equipment, and expertise at farmers' locations, offering comprehensive services in a single visit. Farmers are encouraged to utilize this opportunity for consultations, and staff are urged to serve as volunteers for the maximum benefit of the farmers.
Following the opening ceremony, Captain Thamanat highlighted to the press that the mobile agricultural clinic project is vital in implementing government policies at the local level. The objective is to deliver knowledge, technology, and services directly to farmers, reducing costs and increasing access to government services.
Captain Thamanat noted that Nakhon Pathom province has a significant agricultural sector with many farmers involved in various activities. The mobile agricultural clinics provide accurate advice on production, cost management, improving product quality, and adding value, leading to more stable and sustainable income for farmers.
He stated that these clinics are not only about immediate services but also about providing foundational knowledge for farmers to apply in their lives. The government aims for farmers to be self-reliant and competitive in the economic system.
Regarding the Cabinet's approval of 800 million baht to address the surplus of raw milk, Captain Thamanat emphasized that the issue is being handled by the caretaker government. He intends to raise this matter in the next Cabinet meeting for discussion and implementation.
Petty Officer 1st Class Yotsing emphasized the Ministry of Industry's commitment to supporting the agricultural sector as a crucial production base. He highlighted the potential for processing agricultural produce to add value and generate income for farmers and communities. The two ministries will integrate cooperation to drive the grassroots economy forward.
