Bangkok: Thammanat Prompao, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, recently announced the promotion of the "Narathiwat Model," an initiative aimed at driving development across various sectors in the southernmost provinces of Thailand. As part of his efforts, Thammanat donated 100,000 baht to the Monthong Wittaya School football team, acknowledging their contribution to the school's and community's reputation.
According to Thai News Agency, Thammanat praised the students, coaches, and teachers of Monthong Wittaya School for their achievements, which garnered significant public attention during a recent football match. As Deputy Prime Minister, Thammanat has been closely monitoring youth development in Chachoengsao Province, where the school is known for its strong performance. The Thammanat Prompao Foundation for Charity aims to continue supporting and fostering opportunities for young people in society, as evidenced by the recent donation.
Thammanat has directed key ministers, including Prof. Dr. Narumon Pinyosinwat, Minister of Education, and Mr. Atthakorn Sirilathayakorn, Minister of Tourism and Sports, to prioritize and promote activities that set positive examples for youth and schools under the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC).
In addition to supporting youth sports, Thammanat also detailed plans for the "Narathiwat Model," which seeks to address local issues and enhance the quality of life in the culturally diverse southern border provinces. He emphasized the harmonious coexistence of Thai Muslims, Chinese, and Thai Buddhists in Narathiwat, a province he considers his home. With the Cabinet's mandate, Thammanat aims to use Narathiwat as a development hub, focusing on social welfare, education, tourism, and agriculture.
A committee led by Mr. Amin Mayuso, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, will oversee the initiative's implementation. Thammanat is committed to improving the economic, social, and cultural well-being of Narathiwat's residents by integrating and connecting all sectors for sustainable development.
