The Government Lottery Office is testing the sale of the last 3 digits.

The Government Lottery Office kicked off today the trial sale of 2 million 3-digit last numbers at 20 baht each. It is expected that the actual sale will begin in April 2025.

Mr. Thanawat Polvichai, a member and spokesman of the Government Lottery Commission, revealed that the meeting of the Government Lottery Commission approved the trial of issuing three-digit lottery tickets to test actual sales in the Sandbox system, allowing lottery office employees to buy and sell from October 2, 2024. Then, on October 17, it will be open to the public for trading for 6 months from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. every day. Tickets are sold at 20 baht per draw, with 2 million tickets per draw. The trial value is approximately 40 million baht per draw.

By selecting 900 80-baht lottery sales representatives from all over the country, 400 people were selected to join the experiment. The representatives will receive stall rental fees for joining the sale because it is a trial sale through 80-baht sales points to evaluate the tes
t results. Then, they will recruit real sales representatives, focusing on the same representatives who joined in selling digital lottery tickets, and making a contract to appoint sales representatives before presenting it to the Lottery Committee meeting for approval as well, in order to test it so that it does not affect the digital lottery in the Paotang app.

How to buy: Scan to check the sales point from the Paotang application and make a lottery purchase and pay via the device installed by the Lottery Office via the Paotang application to comply with the project’s requirements that require payment via the digital system only.

Each lottery ticket has a chance to win 4 prize categories: three-digit straight, three-digit alternation, two-digit straight, and special prizes, which will pay out prizes in a variable format based on the number of buyers for each winning number in that draw. The real prize drawing will start in the first draw on April 16, 2025, and sales to the general public will start from Ap
ril 2, 2025 onwards. The initial ceiling is set at 10 million items. If there is a lot of interest, the lottery board will be proposed to increase 500,000 items to 1 million items so as not to affect the original 6-digit digital lottery. It is expected that when actual trading starts, there will be sales of 200 million baht per draw.

Lt. Col. Noon Sansanakom, Director of the Government Lottery Office, said that the issuance of three-digit lottery numbers aims to solve the problem of overpricing, while also being a new option for lottery sellers to avoid the risk of receiving lottery tickets and not selling them all. They can sell all numbers to bring 100-300 billion baht from underground to above ground to bring more money back into the system. After starting to sell digital lottery tickets at 80 baht, digital lottery tickets have become very popular. Currently, the highest sales volume is 24 million tickets, with an additional 2 million tickets added during the draw, from the starting price of 5 million tic
kets in 2022.

The Government Lottery Office has set the price of each three-digit lottery ticket at 20 baht. Buyers can buy any number from 000-999, with 1 number per purchase. The sales method is digital, with a sales proportion of 60% as prize money, no less than 23% as national income, and no more than 17% as administrative expenses.

The prizes are awarded twice a month, on the 1st and 16th of each month, using the six-digit Government Lottery results as a reference. The three-digit prize comes from the last three digits of the first prize, and the two-digit prize comes from the last two digits of the prize draw.

Every purchase will receive one special prize number, with a chance to win four types of prizes: the three-digit prize, the three-digit alternating prize, the two-digit prize, and the special prize. The special prize number will be randomly selected from the lottery ticket that won the three-digit prize, with variable prize payments. If there is no winner in any draw, the prize money will be ad
ded to the next draw for only one draw. If there is no winner in the next draw, the prize money will be transferred as government revenue.
