Chiang mai: The city of Chiang Mai has been shrouded in toxic dust for the 41st day, impacting public health and ranking as the 4th most polluted city in the world.

According to Thai News Agency, Chiang Mai remains shrouded in toxic dust for the 41st day in a row, despite yesterday evening's rainfall in several areas easing the situation. However, this morning's dust levels are still exceeding the standard, impacting public health. Chiang Mai is also ranked as the 4th most polluted city in the world by the IQAir website.

This morning in Mueang district, the PM2.5 level was 150 micrograms per cubic meter. The highest hourly PM2.5 level was recorded at Ban Sob O, Mae Na subdistrict, Chiang Dao district, at 273 micrograms per cubic meter. Overall in the northern region, the highest hourly PM2.5 level was recorded at Pang Mapha Hospital, Sob Pong subdistrict, Pang Mapha district, Mae Hong Son province, at 534 micrograms per cubic meter.
