Trang Flood Crisis Worsens as Water Levels Exceed One Meter

Trang: The flooding situation in Trang remains concerning. In some areas, water levels are nearly two meters deep and are starting to rot and smell bad, as the water has been stagnant for more than a week.

According to Thai News Agency, although the flooding situation in Trang Province has subsided, water levels remain high in many areas, reaching nearly two meters in some areas. Villagers of Nong Bua Village No. 4, Na Ta Luang Subdistrict, Mueang District, still have to wade through water to enter and exit their village, where the water level is over one meter high.

As the water began to rot and smell bad after being flooded for more than a week, hundreds of households, or more than 300 people, were affected. An 80-year-old man rowed a boat to find shellfish and collect morning glory to sell, generating income during the flood.

Trang Province has experienced flooding in 9 of its 10 districts, affecting over 100,000 people and resulting in three deaths. Two districts, Muang and Kantang, continue to experience high flooding in low-lying areas along the Trang River.
