Trang: The flooding situation in several provinces remains concerning. In Trang, several roads have been cut off. In Satun, whitewater rafting operators are surveying the damage caused by floodwaters in the Banthat mountain range. In Yala, although the situation has begun to improve after flooding in eight districts, rain is still falling in the area.
According to Thai News Agency, this morning, more than 10 local government officials and community leaders boarded flat-bottomed boats to deliver relief supplies to villagers in Tha Saba Subdistrict, Wang Wiset District. Floodwaters 1-2 meters deep have cut off several roads, leaving them isolated from the outside world for over a week. Supplies and food are being delivered to villagers three times a day: morning, noon, and evening. A dozen households in the area have been affected by flooding, impacting over 20 lives. Wang Wiset District is downstream from Thung Song District, causing water levels to rise rapidly.
Village No. 10, Ban Wang Na Nai, Nam Phut Subdistrict, La-ngu District, Satun Province, was the first area to receive flash floods from the Banthat Mountain Range since November 20th. Water levels in some areas reached as high as 5 meters, forcing villagers to flee to higher ground, as this area is a popular whitewater rafting destination. Recently, water levels have receded almost to normal, and rafting operators are rushing to survey the area for cleanup efforts. Some resorts are almost completely empty, and many are distressed due to the severe damage. Satun Province has been flooded in 7 districts, 31 subdistricts, 229 villages, and 20 communities, covering 30,168 households. 83,812 people have been affected, with 29 injured and three fatalities (one from a landslide and two from drowning).
