Two Young Men Arrested for Posting Guns for Sale Online

Khon Kaen: Two suspects were arrested for allegedly posting guns for sale online while meeting to pick up the goods at a gas station. They confessed to buying the guns online and modifying them before selling them.

According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Lt. Col. Chaimes Netiwimolsin, Inspector of Division 2, Technology Crime Investigation Division 3, disclosed that the investigation team had discovered a Facebook account user posting about buying and selling firearms in a public group. The team posed as customers and contacted the seller to purchase two firearms. The seller arranged a meeting at a gas station in Khon Kaen Province for the transaction.

At the arranged time, a suspicious vehicle was located, driven by Mr. Jeab and Mr. Singh. An investigation team, disguised as customers, approached to inspect the goods inside the vehicle. Upon inspection, they verified that it was indeed a real gun. The officers then revealed their identities and arrested the suspects. The suspects confessed to purchasing the gun from a man online, modifying it, and then selling it.

Both suspects face prosecution for possession of firearms and ammunition without permission and carrying firearms in public without permission. The police are continuing their investigation to identify other individuals involved and trace the source of the illegal firearms.
