US Secretary of State Supports Thailand-Cambodia Peace Talks

Bangkok: US Secretary of State Marco Sihasak made a direct call to express support for peace negotiations between Thailand and Cambodia. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkaew, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, held a telephone discussion with Mr. Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, regarding the situation between Thailand and Cambodia. This was a follow-up to their previous telephone conversation on December 11, 2025.

According to Thai News Agency, both sides discussed the latest developments on the Thai-Cambodian border. The Minister reiterated Thailand's position and provided information on Thailand's course of action, including its participation in the Special ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting on December 22, 2025, in Kuala Lumpur. The US Secretary of State acknowledged this and expressed readiness to provide support. Both sides will continue to maintain contact and discussions.
