Valentine’s Day Celebrations Reach New Heights and Depths Across Provinces

Chiang rai: Valentine's Day was celebrated with unique events across various provinces, offering couples extraordinary experiences to commemorate their love.

According to Thai News Agency, Chiang Rai hosted the 10th "Singha Park International Balloon Fiesta 2026," the largest balloon festival in ASEAN. This vibrant event saw the skies filled with over 30 hot air balloons from 13 countries, providing 14 lucky couples the chance to declare their love and register their marriage while soaring above the picturesque landscape.

In Roi Et province, love took an adventurous turn at the "sky marriage registration" event. Couples experienced the thrill of zipping down from the Ho Hwat tower to receive their marriage certificates. Presided over by Governor Chatchawan Benjasiriwong, the event saw participation from 32 couples. Certificates for 26 couples were presented on the tower, while the remaining 6 couples received theirs on an island in Bueng Phlanchai lake, after which they zipped down to collect them personally.

Further south in Trang Province, the annual underwater wedding ceremony at Sivalai Beach on Koh Mook drew 20 couples from Thailand and abroad. Part of the Trang Love Festival project, these couples embarked on a memorable journey to the One Rock area near the Emerald Cave, Hat Chao Mai National Park. There, at a depth of 5-6 meters, surrounded by colorful marine life, they sprinkled pink sand and registered their marriages underwater, marking a truly unforgettable Valentine's Day celebration.
