Yotchanan’s First Visit to Ayutthaya Highlights Water and Agricultural Challenges

Ayutthaya: "Yotchanan" made his first visit to the area to listen to the problems of the people of Ayutthaya, emphasizing the need to address water issues and agricultural product prices. During the visit, Chulaphan unveiled a policy guaranteeing a 30% profit on agricultural products, while Anucha highlighted the benefits of electing the Pheu Thai party as the sole governing party.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Yotsanu Wongsawat, the Pheu Thai Party's prime ministerial candidate, alongside Mr. Julaphan Amornvivat, the party leader and prime ministerial candidate, and other party executives visited Ayutthaya and Suphan Buri provinces. The visit aimed to hear residents' concerns about recurring floods, inadequate water management, and low agricultural product prices.

The delegation's first stop was in Chay Na Subdistrict, Sena District, where discussions with villagers and farmers centered on the flooding impacts. Residents expressed the need for improved water management to prevent prolonged floodwaters and sought assurance of timely compensation for flood damages. They emphasized that better management could be achieved with the current warning systems, minimizing the flooding impact.

The agricultural sector shared concerns about low rice prices and difficulties related to rice straw burning. While the prohibition of burning is promoted, the alternative composting method is time-consuming, delaying rice cultivation. Farmers urged more efficient solutions and conveyed hopes for the Pheu Thai government to address these issues effectively.

Mr. Yotsanan acknowledged the urgency of the issues raised, emphasizing the need for policies that reflect the people's suffering. He stressed comprehensive management of agricultural product prices and highlighted the necessity for effective negotiation with trading partners. On flooding, he underscored the importance of a comprehensive water management system, not only for Ayutthaya but also for upstream areas.

Mr. Chulaphan urged the government to prioritize relief for flood-stricken areas like Sena, criticizing the slow pace of compensation distribution. He expressed the Pheu Thai Party's commitment to a mega-project aimed at revamping the water management system. Regarding agricultural policies, he emphasized a 30% profit guarantee on products, aiming to revitalize the sector.

Mr. Anucha highlighted the significance of the agricultural sector as a key driver of the nation's economy. He praised Mr. Yotsanan's capabilities and scientific approach, urging the public to support his candidacy and a Pheu Thai majority government. He assured that this leadership would improve farmers' lives and boost national prosperity.
