Kamalasai: A young man with a methamphetamine addiction has sent shockwaves through a village by running and jumping on the roofs of houses, unfazed by the potential dangers.
According to Thai News Agency, Grandma Lampang, a resident of Kamalasai District, Kalasin Province, identified the man as her 35-year-old grandson, Mr. Iew. She revealed that Mr. Iew has struggled with methamphetamine addiction for many years, leading to mental health issues. Despite numerous hospitalizations-more than ten times-his condition has not improved, necessitating constant medication.
Mr. Iew's erratic behavior has been a source of distress for Grandma and the family. He has been known to wander with a knife, cutting down trees and destroying election campaign signs in the village. This destructive behavior has been particularly troubling during the election period.
Grandma Lampang recounted a personal incident where Mr. Iew slapped her on the head, instilling fear in the household about the potential for further harm. His antics have included running across rooftops both day and night, causing concern among the villagers. Recently, police intervened and took Mr. Iew back to a psychiatric hospital for treatment.
