Thailand Faces Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain Across Multiple Regions

Bangkok: Thailand is set to face continued thunderstorms and heavy rain across various regions, including the Northeast, Central, Bangkok and its vicinity, the East, and the South. Residents in these areas are urged to remain vigilant against potential dangers associated with heavy and accumulated rain.

According to Thai News Agency, the Meteorological Department forecasts that the adverse weather conditions will persist for the next 24 hours. The monsoon trough, which is passing through the lower North, Central, East, and lower Northeast regions, coupled with a moderate southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, the South, and the Gulf of Thailand, is responsible for the weather pattern.

The sea conditions in the upper Andaman Sea are moderate, with waves reaching heights of 1-2 meters. In the lower Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, waves are approximately 1 meter high, but can exceed 2 meters in areas experiencing thunderstorms. Mariners are advised to exercise caution and avoid sailing in affected areas.

The weather forecast from 6:00 AM today to 6:00 AM tomorrow indicates that the northern region will see thunderstorms in 60% of the area, particularly in provinces such as Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, and Chiang Rai. Temperatures will range from 22-35 degrees Celsius with variable winds.

In the Northeastern region, thunderstorms are expected to cover 60% of the area with heavy rain in places like Nakhon Ratchasima and Buriram. Temperatures will range from 23-34 degrees Celsius, with variable winds.

The Eastern region will also face thunderstorms in 70% of the area, with heavy rain in provinces such as Chachoengsao and Chon Buri. Winds will be southwesterly at 15-30 km/h, with sea conditions mirroring those in the Andaman Sea.
