According to Thai News Agency, the case involves Mr. T., a well-known actor, DJ, and producer who is the son of the owner of a popular herbal inhaler brand. In October 2015, Ning, along with over 20 other victims, filed a complaint at the Thonglor Police Station and with Division 1 of the Consumer Protection Police Division. The total damages from the scam amounted to tens of million baht.
On November 15, 2015, police arrested Mr. T., aged 32, at a condominium in the Phra Khanong area. He was charged with "jointly defrauding the public" and other related offenses. Despite the charges, Mr. T. has denied any wrongdoing.
Ning Panita, speaking on November 16, 2015, stated that she learned of the arrest through news reports and acknowledged the progress in the legal process. Although not yet called for further information by the police, she expressed her willingness to cooperate. Ning noted her relief but also conveyed a sense of responsibility for the arrest. She commented on the accelerated progress of the case, attributing it to the collective efforts of the victims and their gratitude towards her for bringing attention to the issue.
Ning emphasized her detachment from the scam, clarifying that she did not partake in any fraudulent activities. Despite Mr. T.'s denial of the charges, she highlighted the importance of the legal proceedings to uncover the truth. Ning refuted Mr. T.'s claim of only a few victims, asserting that there are approximately 47 affected individuals who have documented their experiences.
Concluding her statements, Ning Panita called for justice and compensation for the victims, noting the partial compensation they have received so far. She also urged the public to remain vigilant against deceitful claims, viewing the incident as a valuable lesson.
