Governor of Sports Authority of Thailand Reports Positive Fan Response to SEA Games

Bangkok: The Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand, Dr. Kongsak Yodmani, reported that the response from sports fans attending the 33rd Southeast Asian Games has been satisfactory, with a significant number of spectators present at the events.

According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Kongsak highlighted that the games, which are being hosted by Thailand from December 9-20, 2025, feature 50 main sports and three demonstration sports. With the games now halfway through, the Thai national team is performing well and is on track to achieve its goal of becoming the overall gold medal winner.

Dr. Kongsak noted that since the start of the games, attendance figures have been positive across various stadiums. The baseball competition at the stadium celebrating the 60th birthday of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit saw a large turnout. The matches have been intense, exciting, and captivating, complemented by various activities that attracted fans' interest.

He further mentioned that other sports competitions held in Bangkok and surrounding areas, such as football, volleyball, basketball, swimming, and tennis, also drew many attendees. Extreme sports, which are popular among the younger generation, saw significant interest as well. Skateboarding and rock climbing events at the Sports Authority of Thailand sports center in Hua Mak were filled with fans who enjoyed the competitions and supported Thai athletes. Dr. Kongsak encouraged sports fans to experience the vibrant atmosphere during the remainder of the competition.
