Narathiwat: Six bombs exploded simultaneously in Narathiwat province, targeting gas stations. No injuries or fatalities were reported. Late last night, between approximately 00:45 and 01:30, a series of explosions occurred in three southern border provinces: Narathiwat, Yala, and Pattani. The bombs targeted 11 gas stations, causing damage but resulting in no injuries or fatalities.
According to Thai News Agency, around 1:00 AM this morning, multiple explosions occurred simultaneously in several areas of Narathiwat Province. The affected locations included gas stations in Ban Khok, Tambon Chuap, Amphoe Cho Airong; Dusongnyo Subdistrict, Chanae District; Tan Yong Mas Subdistrict, Ra-ngae District; Waeng District; and Pasemas Subdistrict, Suai Ngai Kolok District. Additionally, an explosion occurred in front of the Border Patrol Police Special Task Force Unit (Platoon 33) in Suai Ngai Kolok District, causing significant panic.
In Yala province, around the same time as the incident in Narathiwat province, an unknown group and number of perpetrators planted bombs and set fire to four locations, including a gas station and convenience stores. The affected areas included PTT gas stations in Bannangdama area, Kabang District; Bannang Sata District; Bukehla on the Yala-Raman road, Budee Subdistrict, Mueang Yala District; and on Highway 418 (Pattani-Yala) heading towards Yala city, Tha Saap Subdistrict, Mueang Yala District. The perpetrator, identified as a young man on a motorcycle, fired a shot into the air before planting an explosive device at a gas pump, which led to a fire damaging the gas station.
In Pattani province, a group of perpetrators simultaneously bombed two PTT gas stations in the Bana, Mueang district, and Kapho district. Both locations sustained damage. Upon inspection of the PTT Bana gas station in Mueang District, it was found that the fuel storage pipe had been damaged by the explosion. Initial investigations indicate that the perpetrators placed an improvised explosive device (IED) on top of the fuel storage pipe, aiming to destroy the pipe cover and cause a fire. Fortunately, the explosion failed to damage the cover, preventing a fire.
