Lawyer Nida Remains Silent on Ajarn Oui’s Absence from Mediation Hearing

Bangkok: Lawyer Nida Saranya, representing renowned fortune teller Ajarn Oui, arrived at Taling Chan Criminal Court for a mediation hearing related to a defamation lawsuit filed by actress Noon Woranuch and her husband, Todd Piti. The couple has accused Ajarn Oui of misusing their names and making derogatory remarks about their family. Although Noon and Todd were present, Ajarn Oui was notably absent.

According to Thai News Agency, lawyer Nida stated that the mediation was "unsuccessful," and the case will move forward in court. She refrained from commenting on Ajarn Oui's absence, citing personal reasons. Nida emphasized that her client had only apologized as a gesture of good sportsmanship and not as an admission of guilt for all charges.

Lawyer Nida expressed her concerns about media coverage, mentioning that the facts had been distorted. She believes that while Ajarn Oui may have committed some offenses, reports have exaggerated the situation. Her goal is to demonstrate in court that only a limited number of offenses were committed by her client.

In a separate case, lawyer Nida confirmed she is also representing Ajarn Oui in a civil lawsuit filed by Moddam Kachapa. This case is still in its early stages, and no court appearance has been scheduled since the summons was issued.

Nida shared that Ajarn Oui is coping better now but remains stressed by social media backlash. He is ready to accept the situation but is concerned about the influence of public opinion, which might distort the facts.

The lawyer clarified that Ajarn Oui's apology to Noon was an act of good sportsmanship, not an acknowledgment of guilt. While the mediation failed, Nida indicated that future outcomes could change depending on circumstances.
